PHC 6946 Internship Guidelines for Students who Started in Fall 2019 or Spring 2020

The internship provides an opportunity for each student to work in a public health setting. Students in Internship will have the ability to work with minimal supervision to apply public health competencies acquired in the classroom setting to public health practice through experiential activities. Students in the 48-credit program must log 288 total hours of internship (6 credits), while students in the 42-credit program must log 144 total hours of internship (3 credits).

Once a student completes the five public health core courses, they will be assigned a faculty advisor and will be eligible to start internship hours. Internship hours may be split across two semesters and may be done, with advisor approval, with two different internship sites.

Students must create at least two portfolio products that demonstrate achievement of at least five public health competencies.

Additional information will be posted here as it becomes available.
