You are a member of a population that is not required to complete a SOPHAS application when applying for the UF MPH program, however, you are required to complete a second UF Graduate School application and upload the necessary materials outlined below. We encourage all applicants to apply well in advance of posted application deadlines.
Application Requirements
- Complete the UF Graduate School application and pay the application fee by the published deadline
- NOTE: Enter your Upper Division GPA, the GPA for undergraduate coursework taken after the first 60 hours. Advanced Placement and Dual Enrollment credit count toward the first 60 hours. Use our GPA Calculator if needed.
- Upload your Statement of Purpose to the UF Graduate School application (see guidelines below)
- Upload current Resume or Curriculum Vitae (CV)
- No need to request transcripts from all postsecondary institutions attended; UF has these on record from your current graduate / professional degree application.
- Arrange to have (2) Recommendation Forms submitted electronically through the UF Graduate School application (see guidelines below).
- Email the Admissions Coordinator (brittanygibson@phhp.ufl.edu) to let her know your UF application is complete.
Upload Statement of Purpose
Address the two prompts below in a double-spaced 12-point sans serif font, in 500 words or less. There is no “correct” answer to these questions. We encourage honesty, creativity, and thoughtful reflection in your responses.
I. Please describe your motivation to study in the field of public health, specifically within your selected concentration. Explain how obtaining a degree in public health aligns with your professional goals.
II. Recognizing that we each have unique perspectives, share how your personal, professional, and academic experiences will enhance your ability to impact the broader public health community.
Request (2) Recommendations
At least one should be from someone who can speak to your potential to academically succeed in graduate school (i.e., a former instructor or professor). The second can be from a research PI, internship/volunteer supervisor, employer, etc.
If you have been out of school for over five years, two letters from employers are acceptable.
*Request these recommendations prior to submitting your application. You cannot add or delete recommendations once your application is submitted.
