Dr. Tara Sabo-Attwood Awarded Prestigious Executive Leadership in Academic Medicine (ELAM) Fellowship

Dr. Tara Sabo-Attwood was selected as one of only 54 candidates for the highly competitive Hedwig van Ameringen Executive Leadership in Academic Medicine (ELAM) Program at Drexel University College of Medicine (DUCOM). ELAM is “the premier national program preparing women in medical, dental, and public health schools for the highest positions at academic health centers.” ELAM fellows who are female faculty at the associate or full professor level, receive leadership training, extensive coaching, and engage in mentoring opportunities over this year-long program. The program continues DUCOM’s legacy of advancing women in medicine which began in 1850 with the founding of the Female Medical College of Pennsylvania, the nation’s first women’s medical school. ELAM was founded in 1995 to counter the significant underrepresentation of women in the top most administrative ranks of academic health centers, and has now grown to encompass a community of 1,000 women leaders across the US and around the world.
